MICROSOFT'S NEW NAME FOR WINDOWS

Microsoft Corp. dropped the code name Longhorn on Friday, announcing the next version of its flagship Windows operating system will be called Windows Vista.
The world's largest software maker also said it will release the first of two test versions to developers and information technology professionals by Aug. 3.
The company did not say when it expects to release a second test version to a broader audience, but said it remains on target to ship the oft-delayed update to Windows XP sometime in the second half of next year.

Google Newest Search Tool

Google has created a new way to search for locations. They have created a 3D version of finding a view of the world in 3D. You type in a City, or Zipcode and the program "flies you" to the location anywhere in the world. It does this by searching the internet for images of the area and shows the best available images.
It also allows for tilting the view for a 3D effect. Due to the lack on images of "out of the way places", some views are simple, but major cities and important tourist sites are very detailed. The program is free and requires a high speed internet connection and a fairly good graphics card for the full effect.
You can also see get driving directions in a visual format, including dining, hotels, and sightseeing attractions . You can download the free version at www.keyhole.com .
It has a fairly good view of Rob Roy Country Club Village.
